Cold process bars made from natural ingredients that do not contain any artificial/synthetic chemicals
or additives are good for skin, and because the ingredients are not heated, they are able to preserve
their beneficial qualities, more nourishing and compatible for skin. Cold process is better for skin
because it retains the natural glycerin that is produced during the natural bar making process.
Glycerin is a natural humectant (retaining or preserving moisture) that helps keep skin moisturized.
Artisan handcrafted soapTM is a natural, eco-friendly, and skin friendly alternative to conventional soaps
and syndet bars that may contain harsh chemicals or synthetic detergents, i.e. isethionates. Our soap is
made with premium, high quality, plant oils or vegetable oils, derived from plant sources that can nourish,
moisturize, and protect skin (see note below), as opposed to animal fats or petroleum. Proprietary
fragrance oils* create an aromatherapeutic experience. Every cold process bar is handcrafted in the
United States by master artisans, and because of the handmade nature of our soap bars, color shades, and
swirl styles will vary from bar to bar. Each loaf and bar is unique, literally one of a kind. Cold process soap
is mild for most skin, an absence of excessive heat during bar making ensures that the natural glycerin, a
humectant that attracts moisture to skin, is retained. More sustainable, cold process soap requires less
energy and the ingredients in our handcrafted bars are natural and biodegradable, minimizing the impact
on the environment. Vitamin A and E in organic shea butter offers some free radical damage protection
and provides skin with essential nourishment. Antioxidant cinnamic acid has wound healing properties
and can help reduce skin inflammation. Essential fatty acids oleic and stearic can stimulate collagen
production and protect skin from damage by free radicals, helping to prevent wrinkles. It can nourish skin
while locking in moisture, making it smooth, soft, and supple. Olive oil fatty acids linoleic and oleic,
phytosterols, and squalane (similar to sebum and bioidentical to the squalene naturally found in the body)
can improve hydration and create protective, emollient effects. Restorative and regenerating properties
provide elasticity, and help skin to maintain its integrity and tone.
Omega-3, omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin E in soybean oil can restore collagen and increase skin
elasticity, helping diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. CoflowTM “coconut oil (CO) and
sunflower oil (SFlow)” have anti-inflammatory, circulation improving, neuroprotective Super vitamin E
(40-60x higher antioxidant activity) tocotrienol. CO moisturizes skin, helps wound healing, and reduces
inflammation. MCFAs antimicrobial qualities can help with acne and protect skin from harmful bacteria.
Fatty acid lauric acid has antibacterial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens.
SFlow fatty acid linoleic has skin barrier-enhancing properties, and can improve skin cell turnover and
regeneration, helps smooth and soften skin, anti-inflammatory qualities, can help acne-prone skin.
Canola/rapeseed oil has antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamin C, E, K, and is semi-occlusive, helps
skin retain moisture by reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). It has a 2:1 ratio of oleic acid to
linoleic acid that almost mimics the ratio of healthy skin. Characteristic ratio of oleic and linoleic acids for
normal healthy skin is about 1.8:1, while for dry skin, it is about 4.7:1. Essential fatty acids can moisturize
and strengthen skin. Vitamin E and K can help acne, aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin E can
reduce damage to skin from free radicals, vitamin C can help with blemishes and skin hyperpigmentation.

Note: pH [potential of hydrogen; a measure of acidity or alkalinity (basic)] testing natural soap (when all base oils are from plants) typically
show results between 8 (eight) and 10 (ten), with most between 9 (nine) and 10 (ten). Studies have concluded that long-term continuous use
of an alkaline soap-based cleanser does not affect the mechanisms of the acid mantle in maintaining a mildly acidic pH of the skin.
