SLASHY (SASC EYELASH SERUM)

Swiss apple stem cells (SASCTM pronounced “sassy”), fruit culture can activate skin cell regeneration,
peptides help convince cells to produce more keratin, castor oil and coconut-derived (MCT) oil; and biotin
infused serum. Eyelashes are a hair shaft, a root beneath the skin, and a bulb where new hair begins
growing. The bulb is connected to the dermal papilla which nourishes lashes so they can grow. Growth
cycle: growth phase, transition/degradation phase, and resting phase can take (4-11) months to complete.
SASC can stimulate (“stem-ulate”) dormant hair follicles, so more activity growing new lashes. This
elongated cycle results in longer hair and more follicles active in the growth phase. It is not an actual
apple stem cell that is used in formulations; it is the secondary metabolites produced by the stem cell that
may have benefits. SASC serum can promote keratinocyte proliferation in the hair bulb, ensuring optimal
hair anchorage through the stimulation of the adhesion molecules laminin-5 (laminin-332) and type IV
collagen. Cell-adhesive extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins are a prerequisite for growth and migration of
cells. The basement membrane protein laminin-5 (laminin-332) is a cell adhesion molecule, that
promotes cellular adhesion and migration more efficiently than other ECM proteins. Type IV collagen, a
member of the basement membranes and through a complex inter- and intramolecular interactions form
supramolecular networks that influence cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation.
Myristoyl hexapeptide-16 has keratin stimulating properties that can reduce transepidemal water loss
(TEWL), strengthen skin, and increase thickness of skin. These properties can keep eyelashes firmly
rooted, resulting in longer lashes and reduced hair loss. Myristoyl pentapeptide-17 mimics human growth
factor and works by signaling active keratinocytes and melanocytes to produce more hair, increasing the
number of hair follicles in the growth phase. These signals stimulate keratin genes, stimulate keratin
growth, and lengthen and thicken hair and eyelashes. Vitamin B7 (biotin) is made up of protein and
amino acids that support keratin production and stimulate new cell growth, essential for eyelash growth.
Ricinoleic acid (RA) and its derivatives in castor oil have moisturizing qualities, fatty acid content
provides good penetrability and nourishment to lashes, and some degree of effect on growth. RA can
improve blood circulation in the scalp, help strengthen eyelashes resulting in less breakage.
How to use: Apply to clean skin along upper lash root area once a day. For eyebrow use, apply nightly
onto the root of clean eyebrows.
